Impermanence of Life

 

This portrait of a fox squirrel on the Great Miami River was the last picture I took with my trusty 600mm Tamron lens before it took a disastrous fall. I try to be sanguine about photo gear. You can't break your equipment when it's sitting unused in a closet. It was a good 10 years! I just hope whatever eventually replaces it will be as pin-sharp as this champion. I've seen the world through that lens.
